A clinical psychologist holds a doctoral-level qualification (typically a PsyD or DClinPsy) and is trained to assess and treat the full range of mental health conditions using evidence-based therapies. A counsellor or therapist may hold a master's-level qualification. In Hong Kong, there is currently no statutory registration for psychologists, so it is important to verify qualifications before beginning therapy.
